Security Challenges At Hire Depot
Security is a critical consideration for Nationwide Platforms, given the high value of its access platforms. As a result, when its Warrington depot experienced several security breaches, the company decided to upgrade its security systems and controls.
The access hire provider asked GRW Fire & Security to install a high-definition (HD) CCTV system across the Warrington site to enhance safety and control vehicle movements.
Tougher Security using High-Definition CCTV
GRW implemented a multi-point security system using point-to-point wireless transmission links with breakout points to each HD camera using external CAT6 cables.
The cameras covered the entire 5-acre site to control vehicle entry and exit, recognise number plates and record any suspicious events or incidents. Video footage was automatically recorded in full colour, even at nighttime. The system also included trigger alerts to notify operators if a fence was breached or human movement was detected. With AI built-in, the system could easily distinguish between animals and people.
GRW completed the project by installing 60-inch plasma LED screens at key points around the site for efficient management by the security team.
