The context
Nationwide Platforms had suffered a number of yard thefts in which plant, equipment and diesel fuel were stolen. Keen to prevent further losses, the company asked GRW Fire & Security to assess the options available for simple and effective protection of its assets across their extensive site.
Sound and vision – robust protection
We designed and installed the ideal solution for Nationwide Platforms a central Network Video Recorder (NVR) with eight IP-based and voice-activated HD cameras. An integral sensor in the camera view sends an instant alert of any threat to the keyholders and to the central monitoring station. In addition, a clip file recording of each onsite event is provided to the police.
Each section of the yard is protected by data links, automated floodlighting (this responds instantly to the presence of an intruder) and centrally-controlled speakers which provide a powerful, site-wide deterrent.

The outcomes of this project have been outstanding, with an immediate 98% reduction in theft in the three months following the installation. Not surprisingly, our customer is delighted!
